Q:
Can you complete the treatment in one visit?
A:
Treatment duration is often dictated by the condition of the patient. While our goal is to treat patients with the efficiency and comfort of one visit, there are cases where multiple visits are required. These situations will be discussed with the patient upon consultation.
Q:
Will the treatment be painful?
A:
The most common myth is that "root canals hurt." Nothing could be further from the tooth once local anesthesia is achieved. Excel Endodonitcs uses a variety of anesthetic options that includes lidocaine, septocaine, marcaine, carbocaine, and nitrous oxide. We also understand the importance of patient management, ambiance, and keen awareness of our patient needs. Once anesthesia is achieved, the root canal procedure is not expected to be painful. The best predictor of post-operative pain is pre-operative pain. This fact is even more reason to have dental work before, not after pain starts.
